All The Ribbon Review

We want to tell you something about a few of our sweaters — something that doesn't quite fit in a product description but feels important to share.

Many of our sweaters come in limited supply because of the ribbon trim, made in the U.S., that is either vintage or no longer in production. That means when the ribbon runs out, we no longer offer the color combination. For example, the Mary Crop Cardigan in Merino, the Holly Puff-Sleeve Cardigan, and the Channing Boatneck Sweater are each finished with a grosgrain ribbon that is unique and in limited supply. Part of the fun of wearing a Noyac Knits ribbon sweater is knowing that there are only small batches made in each ribbon/color combination. Unique pieces made to cherish.

Why Does the Ribbon Even Matter?

Fair question. It’s a trim detail — why are we writing a whole blog post about it?

Because the ribbon is our signature flourish and elevates the style of each sweater. It gives each piece a quiet, considered polish and a throwback vibe.

Hand Finished Means Exactly That

Every ribbon-trimmed sweater is finished by hand. Each length is cut and applied individually — there’s no automated process involved. Which also means no two are perfectly identical. The ribbon may sit slightly differently. The stripe may align in its own way. That’s not a flaw. That’s just what handwork looks like, and we think it’s part of the charm.

A Few Sweaters Worth Knowing About

If you’ve been on the fence about any of these, here’s the picture:

  • The Mary Crop Cardigan in Merino — a cropped cardigan in sweet pastel blue in soft merino.
  • The Holly Puff-Sleeve Cardigan — a little more dressy, with a puff sleeve that feels current without being trendy, contrasted against the vintage plaid ribbon, knit in three-season lightweight merino.
  • The Channing Boatneck Sweater — a classic cableknit pullover with a flattering boatneck in cozy merino for a polished casual look that never goes out of style.

Each one is available while our ribbon supply lasts. No restock. Just what’s here now, finished the way we think it should be.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Noyac Knits ribbon sweaters limited edition?

Each ribbon-trimmed sweater is made in small batches tied directly to our ribbon supply. The grosgrain ribbons we use are either vintage or sourced from U.S. mills that no longer produce them. Once a ribbon runs out, that colorway is permanently retired from our collection.

Are the ribbon-trimmed sweaters hand finished?

Yes. Every sweater is hand finished — each length of ribbon is cut and applied individually. No two pieces are perfectly identical, which is part of what makes them special.

Which Noyac Knits sweaters feature the vintage and heritage pattern grosgrain ribbon trim?

Most of our sweaters feature this.  Check out the Mary Crop Cardigan in Merino, the Holly Puff-Sleeve Cardigan, and the Channing Boatneck Sweater for a vintage vibe.
